  1. Private message: I wasn't able to get through your above links to contact you. I'm dumbstruck by your last name - it was my father's last name and I've never seen anyone with it before now! My father's family was from Pennsylvania too. Do you mind contacting me? carrie@whenheartsbloom.com

  3. Hello Anonymous,
My opinion is DO NOT bring a 15 passenger van here!!

Are you a family of 5 or a family with 5 children? When we moved here last time, I had 5 children ages 2,4,6,8 and 10. We had a Suburban that was brand new and I sold it almost immediately because it was not easy/convenient to park or drive in Germany... even at your own house if you live off-post. It would even be harder in a country like France where the cars are even smaller. I bought an 8 passenger used Mercedes Vito and that thing had tons of room and was built to turn into very tight parking spaces. And it was diesel so the gas was economical. Gas is expensive here in Europe. We had our 6th child while we were here and the Mercedes was great- each seat is an individual, full-sized seat so each can accommodate a car seat.

We had a wonderful Ford 12 passenger van before we moved here this time and we sold it because we knew it was too big. I am so glad we did. We have all 6 of our kids here and our youngest just turned 5. We bought an 8 passenger Toyota Sienna (2 years old) and it is GREAT!!! Anything bigger is too big. If you have three children you can easily fit three car seats into a vehicle like that.

Let me know if you see this reply and feel free to contact me again.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.
